dumb question.
« on: January 22, 2006, 12:02:04 PM »
Hi,

I have a laptop and a desktop. Both are running WinXP pro. When I reboot the desktop, it will just starts without asking me for password, but when I reboot my laptop, it ask me for password every time. How can I turn this annoying feature off? I am sure there's a way but I just can't figure out.

Thanks for your help as always.

Richard

Do you have password for that one? If you have it will continue to ask. If you want ro remove go to Start->Settings->Control Panel->User Accounts and choose Change an accaount and clear the password.
But if you have no password , click on Change the Users Log On and Off and check the box Use Welcome Screen.

If you don't know the answer, it isn't a dumb question. ;)

Do you have a password set for both computers? It sounds like one does and one does not...
