    AdBlock Stick and its software
    « on: June 24, 2020, 08:34:18 PM »
I have bought lately AdBlock Stick and installed on my computer (Win10 Pro) today. It doesn't seem successfully installed though. My AV Bitdefender blocks something in that AdBlock software.

    Here's the Bitdefender message:

    Quote
The file C:\Program Files (x86)\Block My Ads\publish\x64\WinDivert64.sys is infected with Application.WinDivert.B. The threat has been successfully blocked, your device is safe.

Of course AdBlock cannot startup in this situation.
Is >Application.WinDivert.B< something really bad? Or is this false positive? I'm stumped now  ???

Open Bitdefender, Click on Protection (left-hand side) and you'll see the Safe Files component on the right. Click on Application Access to see the list of programs which have been blocked. It's a simple case of using the toggle switch to tell Bitdefender that you want to allow it to make changes to your protected folders. Incidentally I am not a great fan of Bitdefendr.
