    Win8 freezing
    « on: September 06, 2019, 05:30:34 AM »
    Hello everyone,,
Evening! My Acer V5-552G (win8) has been freezing up randomly. Sometimes after a while, sometimes right at startup. Been trying to troubleshoot and and can't seem to locate the problem. Just did a /scannow and it reported a problem with corrupt files in the CBS logs. Might this be the source of my problem? Have also done a complete reformating of my hard drive without any success.

    I would appreciate any help/tips!
    Thank you in advance,
    Gujarish.

    Hi

As your laptop is coming up 6 years old it is likely the 500GB Seagate hard drive is is end of life. If you are still able to run Windows and install programs I would check the Hard drive with HD sentinel from here  https://www.hdsentinel.com/index.php
If it is showing end of life then it requires removing the bottom of the case so check out a video of what's required before deciding to replace it.
