Adding Old HD to New PC
    « on: April 22, 2021, 02:01:13 PM »
I have a newly built PC with Windows 10. It has an SSD boot drive for the OS and an SSD data drive. My old rig's [Windows 7 Pro] data drive is a physical HD. I would prefer to plug my old physical HD into the new rig so I can have access to the data rather than transfer everything to the new SSD data drive.

What steps do I need to take to add the old physical HD as an additional drive in the new PC?

    Hi

What is the new PC, so we can check what connections you have and mounting available. If these check out ok then you will need power and a data cable. In new PC's the computer will always boot from the Windows 10 drive so booting isn't a problem. Also can we have the make and model of the old drive you are installing.
