Embarrassing Question...
« on: February 17, 2006, 07:57:27 AM »
Well, I hope this already hasn't been asked. I did look but couldn't find anything quite like it... So here I go.

Well, I am a teenager - and as teenagers do I enjoy looking at porn sometimes. This never really caused a computer problem until recently because I could always just go back and delete the history and everything was good. However some of the sites I visit are appearing in the URL window if I type in the first letter of them, even though I have deleted all the cookies and history. I also cleared the Autocomplete and SSL Slate so I don't know what to do anymore. Can anyone help me? My computer is an HP Pavilion by the way.

Nope,  :-/ It still pops down in the URL if I type in some letters. It probably did help get rid of some other naughty stuff though. Any other reccomendations?

Try putting your mouse pointer over one of the entries, and press the delete key. Note: Do not click on the URL, just put your mouse over it.

I am afraid none of this is working. You see - if I visit any sites enough it seems they become a permanent part of my URL. I can't seem to delete them.

I'm very surprised ccleaner didn't clear everything for you.
Give us one of the offending links to try. :D
PM it if you wish, don't worry, I'm old & have seen it all before.

It's impossible that Ccleaner didn't remove them away...What is your browser? Be sure you check appropriate boxes under your browser (Inetrnet Explorer, FireFox etc.)

You could try not visiting those sites.  Problem solved.  You'd also stop running out of Kleenex, that way.
Only able to visit the forums sporadically, sorry.

Maybe you should ask yourself if either you, or any member of your family should ever appear in this pornography that you so enjoy, would you feel the same way?

Pornography along with prostitution is a crime as are all crimes.

Pornography is a perversion and its existance points to corruption and a perversion of justice.

Would you not rather live in a crime-free world with no wars and no pornography?

Did you say porn was the basis of all crime and problems in that world? That is just silly! Anything, I think my computer has some sort of internal 'favourites' system, and it automatically catalouges sites I visit often so I don't have to type in the url everytime. The CCS did clean a lot of things, but not what I am looking for...

Renissance, don't listen to him a 'tall. He's been banned at least 5 times, and is overdue for another one. He's supposed to be gone for good.

Mr. President, don't you have anything better to do than make a fool of yourself?

Good work on kicking the porn habit. I'm trying to do the same, but it is far from easy.

Yeah, well they DO exist. And sadly, so do you.

Can we just answer the guy's God-**** question? This isn't a thread about morals on the Internet. He's asking how to get those URLs off of his Address Bar. Do you know how? No? Then go away.

And when I said "Yeah, well they DO exist. And sadly, so do you", I was referring to this:

As usual you are tackling the problem the wrong way around. If cigarettes and pornography didn't exist you wouldn't have a habit to kick. The same applies for drugs and all forms of addiction.

Yeah, my brain hurts. I'm using all of my brainpower to restrain myself from saying what I REALLY think of you. I'd get banned for sure if I said it.

I'll emphasize what I said before: Can we just answer the guy's God-**** question? This isn't a thread about morals on the Internet. He's asking how to get those URLs off of his Address Bar. Do you know how? No? Then go away.
