    NO BOOTABLE DEVICE
    « on: October 19, 2022, 10:47:20 PM »

I have an acer aspire 315-21 lap.

Hard drive ready to blow, lot of bad sectors, 552 to be exact on a 1 tb drive.

So I purchased a Custom 1TB HDD/SSD 2.5" SATA Hard Drive for Laptop Win10 Pro Installed Legacy 64 on ebay.

installed the drive, but when I try to boot up, I get the message, no bootable device...

Went into bios, the hard does not appear.....

so what's the solution or the problem, thanks

    Hi

If the harddrive is plugged in at the motherboard end and harddrive fully and you can hear the harddrive spinning then the drive is most likely faulty.

Here is a youtube video I found showing replacing the harddrive in your laptop    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5E3pL-yknms

I would suggest installing an SSD not a hybrid drive into the laptop.
