Blurred text (perhaps resolution?)

Sorry - I didn't really know where to put this.

So, the problem is - I'm not really used to this new computer I got only very recently.  It's a 17" flatron LJ monitor, using XP - which is pretty much the same as my old computer minus the flatter screen 9its not one of those fancy flat screen LCDs or whatever they are, it's just a flatron.

When viewing a webpage through both IE and Firefox, the smaller text (which should be a fine print) seems blurred - like it's larger than it should be;

That's a direct image of what it looks like on my screen 1024x768

On my old pc, when looking at that same image - it looks right - but on this pc it looks blurred.

can anybody help?

Well, it shows fine for me. You can't harm your computer by turning it up a few notches. Why not try that and let me know how it went?

Also, you said the computer is new. Is the monitor new as well? If so, then try turning up the resolution as well as the color depth. If that doesn't work, let us know.  8-)

I was in bed last night and thought to myself "these people aren't going to see how blurred the text is because it's only showing on MY computer"

So yeah, it looks fine for you - but blurred for me.

The monitor is new.  I'll fiddle around with it and let you know how I go.

Being a picture (screenshot) others can see the problem too.
It looks blurred to me.
I have the same complaint about mine but it's just not bad enough to spend time on.
I'd be very interested to hear if you find out anything.

Sorry, Fed, but the only blurriness I see is the natural distortion of a jpg...

I don't know if this will help but do you have Cleartype enabled?

I was gonna suggest the same thing goto windows doload and get "cleartype tuner" fixed me right up
