Chromebook compatibility with Android?

Apps on the Google Play Store may not be compatible with all devices. Note: In most cases, apps from Google Play can't be downloaded to Windows or Mac computers but can be downloaded to supported Android and Chromebook ...

I got a great deal on a Dell Chromebook on eBay. At theft time I did not know about the above issue. Only a few devise on on the 'prepending" list.

My hope is that this post might warn others.  :'(

A few months ago, I purchased a refurb Chromebook on Amazon and ran into the same disappointment.  Lesson learned.

    Hi

I can't see a problem, if you have Chrome OS installed on the DELL and log in to the play store you should be able to install any app. It is an issue if the device is running Windows or mac OS.

You may need to "powerwash" your laptop to reset back to factory as described here   https://support.google.com/chromebook/answer/183084?hl=en

I bought a ASUS Chromebook C202SA and most stuff at the Google Play Store runs ok on it. Some stuff has long load times that your wondering if its going to run or crash and then loads and very few other things dont work.

My guess is that your Chrome OS may also be older version locked like mine.

My ASUS C202SA Chromebook is "Final Updated" at version 103.0.5060.132 (Official Build ) (64-bit)
And it states "To get future updates, upgrade to a newer model."

It also states under "additional details" under Settings: This device stopped getting automatic software and security updates in June 2022

The C202SA has 16GB eMMC storage and the Celeron N3060 1.60Ghz with ( 2.48Ghz Turbo ) Dual-Core. And its pretty quick for more than 90% of the stuff I do. Just some apps/games from google play lag on it or don't run.

Thanks for your answers. That can help sometimes.   ;D

    Grapple should know. Right?

Try this in a Google  search:
    See list of non-compatible Chromebooks.

    I got this:
    https://www.google.com/search?q=list+of+non-compatible+chromebooks&oq=list+of+non-compatible+chromebooks&aqs=chrome..69i57j33i160.2351j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

Notice you can get some bargains.  :o
