Printer cartridges: Available generic vs Canon

I have seen compatible cartridge listed online but so far I haven't found a company that provides good cartridges at lower prices.  In fact some are more  expensive than standard purchases.  Any information on using these to save money would be appreciated.

    Hi Janis

What cannon printer are you looking to get cartridges for.

Some things to consider about cartridges. Most printers support low capacity ie about 200 pages at most. there is  high volume cartridges which will print about  700 pages. Most of the clone cartridges have more ink than the original equipment units so last longer, So if there is a cartridge re loader  in your area this saves waste and is sometimes cheaper than the clone cartridges. There is a company I use which fills cartridges while you wait or gives  exchanges. And if you are not happy they replace the cartridge.

If you are not needing color much consider getting a laser printer as well these are a lot cheaper to run and as there is not so much home printing now they are cheap.
