Internet Explorer error - won't open any site
« on: March 27, 2004, 09:00:11 AM »
On our other computer, running Windows ME, we cannot open Internet Explorer.  Error message is "Rundll32 has caused and error in MSG121.CPY.DLL".  What is MSG121.CPY.DLL and how can I correct this problem?  (I have tried re-booting, virus scan, etc. but problem persists.)

reinstall Internet Explorer 6. That will probably fix it.

How can I re-install IE 6 if I can't get to a website?  If you can, give me specific steps.  Thanks.

How are you getting here? :) anyway, do you have netscape? Try using that.  Do you have outlook? Depending on what version you have, you can access the internet through that.

You've got spyware. Ad-aware should repair it:

RUNDLL errors with Ineternet Explorer are usually indicative of a spyware search bar or parasite. When they disable your internet access, removing the spyware is not enough. You'll also have to repair your winsock registry entries and some related files. This program will do that: http://members.shaw.ca/techcd/VB_Projects/WinsockFix.exe
