Yeah, the wizard does not find the printer.

When i double click the Microsoft Windows Network nothing happens. The hour glass cursor comes up and then goes away.

And if i select the Microsoft Windows Network and click next, an error message comes up saying "You need to specify a valid network printer name"

From computer2, if you write //192.168.0.100 (I suppose this is the ip for computer1; if not, replace 100 with the right number), do you obtain a result? Can you browse through the shares of computer1?
Do you use on both computers a common account? With the same name, same password?
On computer1 your printer appears to be shared? With rights for which users?

Viking is correct.  I believe that if you answer five questions, it will likely help us fix to your problem much quicker:

    * When you start computer1, does Windows XP give you an option to choose a user name, or does it boot right to the desktop?

    * When you start computer2, does Windows XP give you an option to choose a user name, or does it boot right to the desktop?

    * Do you choose the same user name when you log on to both computers?

    * Do you type the same password when you log on to both computers?

    * Are both of these user accounts Administrator or Limited accounts?

    Please answer all five.

    Thanks,
    Doc

    1. No, there are 2 users on the computer. You have to eneter a password for both.

    2. There is only one user and it boots to the desktop. No password needed.

    3. The user names are not the same on both computers.

    4. The passwords are not the same on both computers.

    5. Both of the users are Administrators.

There is your problem.  Create a common user name and common password on both computers.  When you log on with that user name and password, you should be able to access the shared printer.

Let us know how it goes!

Ok, i got an ethernet cable to hook up to the router instead of the wireless. Now should i run the wizard again to set it up? Or what do i need to do to get the printer on the network?

I used this configuration for both computers...

    Is this the correct one?
