Hey guys, I heard this from someone but I'm not sure if its true or not... Whenever it is possible for me to have my cell phone plugged-in, it's in. Someone told me that if you never let the battery get used that much (not being plugged-in) and you leave it charging for every use that it meses with the battery meter, and it is not accurate... Has anyone heard of this?

Did these people say *how* it messes with the meter? It doesn't seem likely.

What kind of battery do you have, Li-Polymer, or Li-Ion? Re Li-Ion, check out >this article< that I wrote on the subject which applies equally to laptop batteries. Li-Polymer batteries should be cared for in the same way that I outline in that article, although the technology is a little different.

One thing that complicates the issue is the use of "smart batteries". These are the ones with a built in "battery meter" (I think it unlikely that a mobile phone battery is smart). Smart batteries require the periodic use of a dedicated program that fully discharges and recharges them to overcome some errors that creep in over time.

Flame these days with newer models of phone it doesnt matter, thats why you get in car hands fee kits now alot more becasue the batteries can cope with it. I think it was with the old nikel ones that it did mess with the batteries and screw up the life of it.

you dont need to worry man i think something like that is what messed up the early IPOD batteries but with with the technology now you dont need to worry.

I was just wondering if it was true. I've noticed that my battery meter seems to show low battery life rather quickly sometimes, but it's not a problem.

Yea exactly what ROSS said, it used to be a problem but nothing to worry about thses days, however try not to overchagre it. By this i mean leaving it on charge for a long period of time, like over night. Batteries do have overcharge protection but it has be known to fail, as my friend found out the hard way

That's my concern. Every moment (while at home) that I am able to have my phone plugged in, it's in lol

hhhmm... Interesting... That brings up another issue... If you talk on that phone for about 10 minutes, plugged in or not, it get quite hot! Not so much in the back, but the front where you put your face!

Oh no Even if you don't touch it to your face or anything. If I use the headset for instance, it still burns up...

Mine starts to burn if I talk for longer than 30 minutes or so, which happens quiet often. The battery also goes down WAY faster when you are talking to someone.
