computer wont power up. it sounds like a helicopte

when i plug it in, all my keyboard and computer face lights cycle off and on quickly and it sounds like a helicopter. i suspect my power supply got zapped, but any comments would be appreciated

Sounds like a helicopter eh?  Recommend chucking it out of the window and seeing if it flies...

Seriously though - are any of the fans coming on (including the power supply fan)?  What happened before this problem started?

if the darn heli would shut up ...guess i need to open it up and see what i see,  i spose i can pull a power supply from an old one and see if it helps. shut it down fine last night and when my granddaughter start up this AM, it just lifted off the desk.

Yes you need to look in there and see where the sound is coming from before we can proceed. What make and model of computer is it?
