so annoying- plz help

i just formatted my machine and installed all the drivers. I then downloaded anti-virus software(panda). However there is this symbol on the taskbar that looks like the "help" symbol for windows. blue sircel with white boundaries and a white question mark inside. It flashes to a red circel with a diagonal red line, like in "stop" or so. And it constantly keeps popping up a message about antivirus programs and what I should buy and so on.... it all ends in alot of adds on the internet. could someone please help me get rid of it? ive scanned my pc with panda but it doesnt find anything.....

You are already infected then. Before any Windows machine is even connected to the internet you should have Service Pack 2 installed, the firewall active and some antivirus and spyware prevention installed. Sounds like you didn't do this, so you can reformat and start over correctly or attempt to clean up the mess.

if i were you id Stick With AVG Free, it would Save Moneys and Hastel, and also it comes well recomened

It's probably one of those annoying programs that borderline on being classified as malware, there is a grey area between good & bad.
You may find it in your Add/Remove Programs and be able to remove it from there.
You may also have to run hijackthis to identify and remove it.

Well I'm not exactly sure of the name of the virus you have but it definately sounds like you're infected. What I would reccomend would be running X-Cleaner and Ewido in safe mode. Download both and save X-Cleaner to you're desktop. Make sure you update ewido before going into safe mode. Also download Smitrem which is a specialized virus removal tool. Since I'm not sure what you've got exactly it's a good idea to hit it with a broad spectrum. After running through all of those paste a HijackThis log for us to analyze.

As a sugestion, try to use Avast! (http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html) or AVG (http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5), Spybot Search&Destroy (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/) and Lavasoft Adaware (http://www.lavasoft.de/support/download/). Tell us after you "disinfect" your computer how the computer does his job.
