my computer just got wiped clean, and set back to factory specs....but for some reason there is no sound at all......how can i find out what kind of sound card i have so i can get the drivers installed or if you think something else is wrong please tell me

It is no surprise, and probably more than the sound drivers need to be installed.

What computer make/model? If unsure and to know a whole lot more, download and run Everest Home, run the report and copy the file here so we can assist.

Why didn't you just say it was  Dell. They have every driver ever released for Dell's on their web site.  ;)

Go to the Dell page and either input the model number or your service tag and you can get all the drivers for whatever operting system you are using.
