Everytime I try to install software I get this message

16 bit windows subsystem

C:/windows\system32\config.nt. The sysytem file is not suitable for running MS-Dos and Microsoft windows Applications. Choose 'close' to terminte the application


How can i fix this problem? I cannot install some important school applications
