"windows xp error message"

Hi everybody

i would be greatly thankful to all of who would help me with this problem.
  every time i install a game that requires to be registered in window's registry,i get the error
"registry editing disabled by administrator"  :-? i cant figure out why.because i am logged in as administrator and i cant access "regedit or gpedit" .I tried system repair but it didnt work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated . :)

    Look in user accounts on the control panel. Just to make sure ;)

    i've checked and i'm logged in as administrator :-?
