« on: August 05, 2006, 11:44:53 PM »
REVISED POST:
After careful consideration, I have decided that I do not want to find this out. Because I already know the answer.

NEW POST:

Sometimes it works, sometimes not, but if it does it will run at the speed of the slowest RAM present.

There is more to compatibility between chips and motherboards than speed.  ;)

What if you have 256mb RAM, then want to upgrade (adding new)1pc. 512 MB ram? is it will follow to 256mb?

i need More Clarify (im soory, im not so familiar with this one)
my plan is like this:

As of now my pc is working with 1 piece of 256 MB Ram PC266
and im planning to add another PC266 1 piece of 512 MB RAM (and i dont know if they are the same brand)

Quick question: does they will work properly?

Thanks in advance

i dont see why they wouldnt work as long as they are the same speed. im not sure if the brand really as anything to do with it.

My experience does NOT confirm Q&A #1 in that article. Sorry, but that writer has no personal experience, or is young.
