How can I use more bandwith that I have?

I know its impossible, but I was using bearshare and downloading something, and for those of you who dont know, bearshare monitors bandwith. So when im downloading it says I am downloading at 7.9 mb/s, and I was going that fast for about 3 seconds before I dropped to 3.2 mb/s and then finally to about 1.1 mb/s. The problem with this is, I my internet connection is only 3mb/s. Can someone explain, and say more than bearshare miscalculated.

How Stuff Works - How Internet Infrastructure Works

Your speed depends on the amount of people connected to your server. And the amount the provider capped your modem at, ofcourse.

As for Bearshare.. I didn't hear too many good things about use Torrents instead.

http://bittornado.com/ Guaranteed spyware free. Can't say the same for Bearshare.
