i dont have a wireless router but i am thinking of buying one.

i just wanted to know how it works does it needed to be hardwired into one computer or does it send a signal from the phone socket.

i am also hoping to buy a ps3 so how would that be able to connect to the internet.

any help or links(not google!) would be appreciated.

The router would be connected to your modem by cable.  Computers can receive communication from the router either by cable or wireless signal.  The router does not need to be "hardwired into one computer".

if your doing online gaming, i would suggest not going wireless on your ps3 or any gaming comp, simply due to signal strength fluxuations. also, you have to take note that every computer/gaming console that will be connected to the wireless network, WILL need a wireless network adapter.
