WIN 98 SE HELP

i have windows 98 se

when i downlaod a file and save it in my hard disk

it gets deleted after restart

cann smeboby help me plz

icannot even install my sound card
vanishes after resart

    See if you have Deep Freeze or Some type of freezing program that might be doing this.. look at the right hand corner at the bottom and see if you can see a bear or a ice box.. thats all i can think of. maybe someone else has another solution

      When did this start happening?  Recently?  Long time problem?

      Are you running antivirus, antispyware software...if so, what?  

      What kind of file(s) are you downloading?

      Have you done a "search" for the downloaded file after you've rebooted?

      More information would be very helpful if we are to help you.

      i am using deep freeze for about one ad a half months

      and i forgot my password

      i am using win 98 se and i want to install my sound card

      Each time i nstall it it gets deleted
