My laptops got some disk problems...
« on: August 24, 2006, 05:59:59 PM »
My laptop has some disk problems since I formatted it. It no longer remembers bad sectors, and I don't have Scandisk right now. What on earth should I do?
I have DOS 4.1 with MSDOS Shell and Windows 3.0
Anyways, my laptop just froze, and I need to know how safe it is to run a laptop with a damaged disk.
(and are there any disk check utilities I should be able to find in my setup?)
Which is better to shutdown a computer during an HDD error? Power button, removal of battery, or ALT+CTRL+DEL?

In fact, now its making a steady tone, (but the tone just stopped)
and the hard disk will not stop running!
