Why Does Net Quiet Down So Early?

Maybe a naive question, but i don't understand why most Net traffic seems to end early in the evening (i live in New England too) when people would presumably have more free time to be online.

There seems to be a lot more traffic during the day when most people are supposedly working (online at work)?...of course i see an awful lot of people driving during the day too, clearly most of them are not at work.:)  Am i missing something?

Jobs ARE the Internet now-a-days...

Quite frankly, I spend much of my Internet time in the Summer at night.

      Er...  Lots of jobs involve the use of the internet now - research, VoIP, email, VPNs, etc, etc.

      The premise for this question makes no sense...how are you monitoring net traffic ? ? ?

      Last i knew you could track only sites you are currently at so how would you do 2.5 gazillion or so ? ?

        You forget that a lot of Internet traffic is automated.

        Bit Torrent takes up a very large portion, for example.

        It's been a long time ago since I last noticed the net was .. busy. Dial-up no more.  :)

              homework??? that foul invention i smit it with a passion... but i never did it in my high school years and most of the school thought of me as smart and same with my teachers. so there was no need for it.. but I'm trying it in college.

                Pfft homework is usually for teachers benifit. I was always in trouble in college for late homework, some I haven't done to this day, and I got BBBC grades. Not bad for someone who was going to fail, eh?
