DirectX Problem

I have search everywhere for a solution to this, I tried playing a game and it didn't work because I need directX 9 so I downloaded it and once it started installing it said "a cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted." what do I do

what operating system have you got...download it again from msoft...

i have the same problem intsalling directx 9.0c. same error message.  HELP!
