I installed Windows 2000 and it came up with a default in the user field and request a password that I don't have.. How can I get the password or disable it without re loading  windows

If you didn't put in an Administrator password during setup then you should be able to get in with user name: Administrator with no password (leave blank). If you did type in an Admin password during setup and forgot it--- that's trouble.
