Calum...take what is being offered and try to put it into practice.  Look at it this way if you have to initiate all the conversation/smiling/actions...that makes you a leader and not a follower...

The United States is just as bad a failure at
protecting it's citizens.

If we passed a law that anyone attacked,robbed,
or, abused in any way did not owe any taxes for
the next 5 years........The ones we elect would
straighten things out.

If the UK is anything like the USA, our politicians
have fell in love with our hard earned tax money.

They would get rid of the problem overnight before
they would give up the money.

I like that reply Street1...have you given thought to running for office...there's only one glitch...if you pass this law then you would have people hurting themselves or robbing themselves etc etc...i would LOVE to not pay taxes for 5 years... **thinking of ways to rob myself**

Since you immediately found fallacies in my logic.......Then it appears I would make a good politician who....... of course, always hurt himself.

Thanks to everyone for the ideas, I'll certainly try and make more of an effort.

This is exactly what I'm talking about.
That's why I can understand the need for caution, but I feel it does need to be tempered with some respect and politeness for those who are't like that.
And patio - I'll be looking out for that book . . .
