request for finding the gateway

hi friends,
can anybody tell me about how to find the gateway number of main server from the client computer in  a local area network.

By "gateway number" I assume that you are trying to determine the gateway IP address for the subnet that your computer resides on.

For Win2k/XP/NT, you run "ipconfig /all" in a command prompt. Win 9x uses "winipcfg".

    9x has both ipconfig and winipcfg. The former is used from the command prompt and the latter from windows start/run.
