ISP's - Can you recommend an ISP .....more
« on: January 18, 2007, 11:51:31 AM »
I am currently with Orange (Internet Service Provider) however they have REFUSED to provide a static IP address for me to run a home web server.

Can anyone recommend another ISP who provides static IP addresses to their customers ?

Many Thanks

Kate

Looking at her profile, Scotland.
Have a look here - a list of ISPs in the UK.
Some of them include details about whether they have a static IP address as standard/optional.
Might be useful.

Thanks for the list and yes I'm in Scotland
I've taken a look but I think I might go with Tiscali as they do an unlimited business package for less than what I pay for on Orange and Tiscali also provide a free static IP.
Also seems very easy to migrate.

If anyone feels my choice is bad then please let me know.

Just watch out for Tiscali's fair use rules (I can't remember if it applies for this package). I had one friend cut off for using his service too much.
