Themes especially those written by third party writers can wreak havoc with a machine so i tend to stay away from them...but have fun !

I think this is funny because whenever I get a new computer, I spend the first ten minutes making it look like Windows 98.

Oh.......why would you do that to your poor computer?

As Dilbert says:"Windows 98: A 32-bit patch for a 16-bit GUI shell running on top of an 8-bit operating system written for a 4-bit processor by a 2-bit company who cannot stand 1 bit of competition."

What a crappy OS.  Making it look like Win2K, alright....but Win98?

Um...because I like how it looks.  Good OS or not, it's a comfortable look that I've been familiar with for years.  And besides, anything beats the look of XP.

Nobody will ever take away my Classic mode!

I've never used 2000, but don't they pretty much look the same?  From the screenshots I've seen, it looks just like 98.  Besides the icons, of course.

I downloaded a free skinner when I had XP to make it look like Vista.  It slowed my computer down so badly I had to uninstall.

Yeah, but 2000 just has this smoothness to it.  98 had all those dashed lines surrounding stuff, mismatched colors, ragged fonts.  Very bad GUI (aesthetically speaking).  2000 stayed with the same classic look, but it smoothed it out a bit.

Hmm, I rather liked XP, and I'm even more partial to Vista now.

But I digress...

It's different from each.
Looks more like Win2K than 98 though.
And I agree with everything you said - classic mode rules all, and I detest the look of XP, and Vista even more.
Back to the question, Window Blinds can really mess your PC up.

i agree that ! :)

i just want to have some fun playing with win xp UI, i saw some guy done that before, make xp look like vista, so i just want to try it out. i google around and found this
http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/OS-Enhancements/Vista-Transformation-Pack.shtml

have try it on my office pc( why not my own pc?, coz by home pc is win 2k, i still prefer win 2k more than xp or vista ;D) afte install it and restart, system not responding while loading your personal setting, have to restart again, after second time restart, loading successful, all the UI look like vista now, still under testing don't know it got side effect or not ;D

have fun but play at your own risk!
