What kind of wireless card do i need?
« on: February 22, 2007, 01:16:24 PM »
I am getting an HP ZE4325US, and I'm going to need a wireless card (I have comcast) My last laptop had built in wifi, so I had nothing to worry about, but I'm new to the whole pc card thing. So where can I buy one, how much will it cost, and which should I get?
Thanks, and sorry if this thread has already been made.

There are lots of places you can get them, you can get them at newegg.com, you can get them at frys, circuit city, best buy, and possibly your local electronics place. It actually depends on which one you get, that will determine the cost. It is a matter of opinion on which one you think you should get. It also depends on what type of router you have, do you have wireless A,B, or G? In my opinion I would recommend you get one from Linksys.

Computers are the future, not us. Learn everything you can about them while you still can, soon they will be learning about us... Every bit of advice that I give you is best guess, it is your choice whether or not you listen to it.

My CCNA cert.  Um maybe the network I wired in my mothers company that had previously used Belkin and Net Gear with lost signals all over the place until I junked that hardware for Linksys products and Bang not an error since.  Well I think I covered your request for inclusive information.

And yeah 802.11g is the standard of today until 802.11n is completed in a couple months possibly.

Still a broad generalisation regardless of any degree...

Only the GPU matters....everything else is irrelevant.

My CCNA cert.
So... whilst you were on a Cisco course, someone told you that Linksys (wholly owned by Cisco) wireless products were the best?

Quelle surprise.  ;)
