sound is kinda muffled :(

I've just recently purchased a new laptop.  Today when I turned it on, I played some music and the sound isn't as crisp as before.         Does anyone know how to make it so that it sounds normal again?

type dxdiag in the run box this will test the sound and will tell you whats wrong maybe a driver update may help?also you can check the sound settings in the control panel  the speaker icon  right-click on it for the  volume bass treble etc settings.hth
