windows2000 and formatting?

hi all.
just a quick query. i have a hitachi pata 160 gb hard drive but when i formatted the drive in windows setup it only gives me 131 gb. does windows 2000 have a hard drive limitation within the formatting programme. as im losing around 30 gb

Well, you need to have Windows 2000 sp4 or higher for the software restriction to be waived.

thanks for the info. ill use my xp disk to reformat the machine or i could put the drive into my xp machine and do it that way
