Random Wireless Slowdown
« on: March 07, 2007, 09:11:54 AM »
I have three computers on my wireless network. All three are running Windows XP SP2. I'm having some network speed problems on the two wireless ones. Described:

*Wired computer has no problems.

*The wireless computers are just as fast as the wired computer most of the time but sometimes can slow to what seems like 56K speeds (or slower).

*Both wireless computers have a 'Good' to 'Very Good' connection to the network.

*I have tried two different wireless routers (Dlink & Belkin) with the same results.

*I have also run speed tests on the wireless computers during their slow time and even though it takes a long time to load the page with the test on it I actually get the right speeds from the test.

Sometimes I can do for a week or longer without any problems and then the slowdown will come back without me making any changes.

Anybody else had this problem or know I way to fix it? Also, if you need anymore details about the problem or computers just reply.

Sounds to me someone is piggybacking on your signal...

What type of security is setup on the wireless network ? ?
