Flight Sim 9 finally died after trying to die for the last couple weeks. Per the Task Manager, NTVDM is sucking up all CPU resources when the game tries to start - the splash screen appears, then a blue box (NTVDM) appears and the game immediately crashes to the desk-top. Now all of a sudden my Sound Blaster isn't working and I suspect somehow NTVDM has corrupted the software. I deleted it out of Win/System32 but XP SP2 just cloned a new NTVDM. I tried three different Registry cleaners, Disk Scan, etc. to no avail. Is there anything I can do to stop NTVDM short of wiping out my hard drive and starting over?
