Internet Connection Failure.
« on: March 17, 2007, 03:03:44 AM »
Hi there, I am having difficulties with my other computer connecting to the internet, the odd thing is my connection to my router is fine;furthermore, I can connect to skype, iTunes Store, and most other Internet required applications

I have a Wireless router: Netgear RangeMax
Browser:Mozilla
Operating system : Windows XP
Firewall: ZoneAlarm, The Windows Firewall seems to display its turned on even. Though I go through services.msc and shut it off so that is odd.
What I have tried:
  • I've tried virus Scanning found a bunch of trojans, Virus's and stuff removed them.
  • I've tried using diffrent ports www.google.com:8080
  • used adaware and spybot search and destroy.
Please Help!!! NEED INTERNET!

Oh dear.  Sounds like something has been fried by the trojan infestation.  You can no longer trust this machine; I would strongly recommend flattening and rebuilding (i.e. reformat/reinstall).  Make the installation of a reputable virus checker your first priority once you have reinstalled.
Only able to visit the forums sporadically, sorry.
