Computer nightmare
« on: March 18, 2007, 09:36:50 AM »
This is my nephew's computer,so I don't know everything about it.He thought the 40 Gig hard drive was dying because it kept shutting down after about 10 minutes. I checked both fans and they are clean and running. Now it will start but hard drive makes no sounds and monitor reads "video cable connected?". I bought new hard drive same type and size, but it is still doing same thing.I removed new hard drive and just for the heck of it tried old hard drive, it started but when I tried to use AVG Free virus it immediately shut down. Now neither hard drive will start. Any suggestions. The computer is a Gigabyte with a New motherboard(Gigabyte GA-81865GME-775). It has a dual core CPU support-2 512MB PC3200?400MHz DDR Memory. It has 400W Max Hercules switching power supply.
