WORK'S ABILITY TO COPY WEB MAIL?
    « on: March 20, 2007, 03:32:35 PM »
Hi here's a question for ALL the gurus out there ....

    When at work...
I know any email I send from my work computer from my work email .... is copied at the mail server...
Its their software and hardware... and its where they place fire walls and .... etc etc etc...

    But now...
    thanks to President Bush....
companies now have the ability ... so they say...
to copy the sent emails from web accounts ... like HOTMAIL... or YAHOO...
also copy unsent emails... from these same accounts on the web...
    AND ALSO... emails you read....

    This is what they say....?????????

    How true is this?
How would you know its being copied???????

What about accounts that are secured.. like school email accounts... that have some more added security to them....???

does this not make it harder for some of these web watching softwares????

    Anyone???
    Anyone???
    Anyone???  :-? :-?

Actually in reality anything you do at work on their time and on their machine can be monitored including but not limited to e-mail, browsing, IM's etc.

It's been some Co's Corporate policy for some time and has nothing to do with Bush...

Just be knowledgeable that it can be done and act accordingly.

My work's policy is that Computer/Network/Internet is for company use only. They don't mind us using the net at work (like now) but we can and will be monitored at any time.  They may terminate at will for any deemed offensible.

is there a way to do this...????

I'm fully aware that they can track your time ... on each site...
I'm fully aware that they can see which sites you hit....

But to now copy emails you read off the web.... is some thing new...

Google WEB WATCHER software and see what i mean.... for those who need to be educated...

You'll know quick enough once you start being blackmailed, are left by your wife, get kicked out of your house and drink cheap whiskey made out of cheap eau de cologne with the local winos.

If you worry about your E-mail messages being read (Which really isn't all that hard, especially not for a system administrator) you should encrypt them.

yes... I'm aware of remote software and the ability to see your computer screen... from another location...
but there's a little light in the lower right hand corner that alerts me when someone remotes in....  :D

My concern was the automated copying of webmails
But in anycase, I was just wondering can you tell if they have the automated software inplace or not...

some companies are too cheap to buy the separte software...
i know this ability is an add-on software...
            But thanks ... anyway... RAPTOR

            PS
mind elaborating on encrypting an emails....?????

Do you mean encrypting emails sent from work email....???? and how??
Or do you mean encrypting sents from web email???? and how???

            Later homes....

Definitely sounds like someone's got something to hide, eh?  I wanna know the secret.

Just wanted to say ..... you're  a DIK
My need to cover my emails....
is b/c I'm sending initimate words to my girlfriend...
            and vise-versa.....

and I like to read them from work from time to time....

            to pass the day.....

You do know what a girlfriend is.????????

            or do you like boys????

            whatever the case....

            that's why .....

And rather than make EXAMPLE of you on the PUBLIC BOARD.....

I DECIDED TO SHOW SOME Tact!
            You could learn from this....

            And realize....

            Not everything is a joke.....

No, but this PM is.  And unfortunately, I'm not as tactful as you are, good sir.  Nor am I as eloquent with my words.  Now, how about you get some work done and stop talking to your girlfriend about your "DIK"?

Thank you for making an example of me.  If you'll excuse me, I'm going to Google this..."girlfriend".
