CH Reviews

ComputerHope is a very high traffic site... (like you didnt already know that)

I decided to do some internet searching, and got the following reviews:

Rating: 4/5
Computer Hope is a comprehensive advice web site covering most computer related problems.

It can be a lonely business dealing with the idiosyncrasies and downright maliciousness of computers. Don't be afraid, though. Computer Hope is an advice site where they don't think your computer is out to get you. In fact they've probably seen it all before. The vast array of potential problems they deal with can seem a bit daunting to start with: everything from modems and Windows to the internet itself. But if you take your time and don't panic you've got a good chance of finding the answer here. And if that fails you can always ask the site community your own question.

Wrap them text lines for a better score
Written by Charlie from Kalamazoo, MI   (Wednesday, July 24, 2002)

The information was an amalgam of different news items, which I don't have a problem with, but the newsletter, at least the sample link, required me to scroll back and forth in order to read the information. A simple formatting change makes it much more readable and aesthetically pleasing

No rating, but still, they link!

Getting The 7th Guest to Work: The 7th Guest is an old DOS game and it can be tough getting it to work on newer systems. Most CDs of the game come with a game developers' patch enabling 7th Guest to run on Windows 95, 98, or NT. If yours isn't working on one of those systems, try downloading the patch from Computer Hope. The game isn't compatible with Windows XP, but there's a helpful site here that gives you step-by-step instructions for getting it to work on XP anyway.

Best of the Web on Forbes

Ask your questions here for free. This nicely maintained site offers users the ability to search its tech support database for information on computer products. Computer Hope.com offers free technical support via e-mail on computer product information, buying advice, and third party product info. Categories are labeled clearly, so you really won't waste too much time clicking down the wrong path for help. With just a few clicks we were able to find instructions on how to install an internal Iomega Zip drive. While the instructions were a bit weak, the troubleshooting information was very good.

BEST: Free Tech Support via e-mail.

WORST: There isn't a way to perform an accurate quick search. (--this is outdated)

That's good that the site is recognized for the effort of everyone involved.
Good ratings help everyone - makes the people here feel good for getting the site a good rating, and directs more people here for help, who will then feel good when their problem is (hopefully) solved.
