I'd just buy a new one and remember the name.  :)

you can also goto www.nextag.com and look for that model, or on webcam sales sites, then maybe you'll have a name or type to start searching for.

Basically, because you don't know anything about your webcam, it's going to be a bunch of guesswork and trial-and-error.

Is THIS your webcam?  I'm a bit confused because that info says it's manufactured by Sabrent, but the part number is for Kinamax (Sabrent part numbers start with SBT).  If that's not your webcam, perhaps you can check the ones on Sabrent's site (they only have three).

Out of curiosity...what exactly did you search for to find this information?

There's nothing on that site that matches the part # you posted...

    computer .......

Is this the driver your looking for ?

    http://www.kinamax.com/product/Drivers.htm

If this is the correct driver and it appears to match the model number you posted...... I would download the driver into a new folder that you will create on your desktop..... then extract it to the same folder. Now this part is important.......
Do not plug the webcam in at this time.......
    next.....
    Disable your internet connection.
    next
    Disable your Anti-Virus program.
    next
open the folder you D/L and extracted the driver into ..........
next ...... click on the setup icon to begin installing the driver.
During the install process, you may be asked to plug in the WebCam..... If you are, plug it into a USB2 port.......  you should see a message pop-up in the lower right corner ( by the clock) ...that windows has detected new hardware.......... and then a few seconds later, another pop-up to say that windows has installed the new device and that it is ready to use.
next ...... Enable the Anti-virus program.
next ...... Enable you Internet connection......
    That should do it.

    dl65  ::)
If you don't know the answer, it isn't a dumb question.

i followed the link that lurch gave me, then searched for webcam, and looked for the picture of mine, and that's the one that it came up with.

the stuff i got was just a copy paste off the site that lurch gave me...the link to the sabrent site was already there, and as the webcam was made by singapore, it kind of makes sense to do that....

This statement confuses me as the link lurch posted is a shopping site...
Not exactly where i would start a search for appropiate drivers for a hardware device...

On top of that the site you posted sabrent doesn't have anything matching your model # for that device...therefore they wouldn't have a driver for it.

    Try taking dl65's advice above.

patio? i took dl's advice, but he used the stuff i got off lurches site to find it.......

i basically searched for webcams, and looked for the picture....

anyway dl, the link you got me to download was the right program (i remember from last time now that i saw the name [amcap]) and that works, except that when i click to start it, it says "sorry you have no video capture hardware" does anybody have an idea what to do about that one?

    and thanks for that dl

If it's a USB cam it should not be hooked up when you install the software.
Try un-installing thru Add/Remove. Then power down and remove the device.
Disable your Anti-Virus program when you re-boot and then re-install the software. It will tell you when to hook up the device and finish installing...
