Has this BIOS been flashed by any chance ? ?

If so all bets are off.

Try removing the laptop battery and power cord. With both removed turn on the power and let it sit for an hour or so...

I think that you either damaged something or you failed to plug something back in properly, which could have caused damage on its own..

Agreed.

Examine the pins on the rear of that HDD.

pins are lined up looking good. their are 4 pins on the one end that are exposed. screw holes line up, slides in perfectly. i see no cable that is loose that would connect the 4. lookng at the pdf it shows the 4 exposed.

I'd switch the HDD around with a known working one, although 2.5" HDD's may be hard to obtain. You could go for the cheaper solution which is getting a 2.5" IDE connection to USB converter like I have.

I don't believe that is the problem...

If the HDD has gone south it can cause it to not be seen by the BIOS.

Focus on the drive first then when it's determined what condition it is in then we can work on the BIOS...

Grab a 2 1/2" to IDE or USB connector cable and remove that HDD and hook it up to a known working machine and tell us how it shows up in Explorer/Disk Management...

This is taking too long, you're going to have to test that HDD to see if its fried. If it's not, then you're going to have to test a known working 2.5" on the laptop.

Sorry, there is no other way unless you bring it to a qualified repair point.

This started with you removing the hard drive. Surely you can do that again and test as suggested repeatedly.
