Modem Problems
« on: April 06, 2004, 10:05:49 AM »
It is getting to where when I try to get on the internet,I get a message saying "modem not working or not turned on".My modem is internal & it is working,I have to uninstall & reinstall it and then it works fine.It does this when I first turn on my computer,it has done it a couple of times even after computer has been on all day.I have a US Robotics 56K modem installed. It has only started doing this within the last week.Any ideas as to why? It is getting to be aggravating unintsalling & reinstalling every time I want to dialup. >:( What could be causing this? ???Thanks in advanced.

What operating system?
-could be an IRQ or COM port conflict, try checking device manager or obtaining newest release of driver from modem web site. ;)
