    As a result of the recent refference to a program called "Everest' on another CH forum i went crazy and ran a system check on a bunch (7 computers we have in the house). On 2 of them i get a value responce beside "battery" ="no battery". Both computers are functioning without problems (including keeping proper time even after prolonged shutdowns). Is this normal?Should i be concerned about this?Is it something that can be addressed and if so how?Thanks,truenorth

      Were they laptops running on AC? If so, do they have a "smart battery"?

      If they were desktops there is no battery, as such, except the CMOS which will not be measured.

        1. Raptor, Would you prefer that i refer to the others as "destinations"?
        2.2k_dummy,Oh how i wish at least one of them were a laptop --but no they are all desktops.
        3.GX1_Man, Yes they are all desktops.However given that fact what concerned me was that of all of them scanned only 2 gave that value. The other 5 if i remember correctly gave no value beside the item (which i assumed to mean all was fine). Hense my question on the 2 with the "no battery" especially since as far as i know most if not all recent computers do contain a battery.Given how complete that "Everest " scan seems to be i did believe that it was in refference to the CMOS battery.Thank you all for your replies. truenorth
