IE Opens Automatically
« on: November 15, 2004, 06:38:10 PM »
I am running Windows XP Home and have just installed the Service Pack 2.  Now when I connect to my internet provider, IE opens automatically.  It didn't do this before SP2.  How can I disable this action?

lol. If it IS a popup, then may I suggest Norton Internet Security 2005? It has a popup blocker and everything. GOOD LUCK!!!  8)

The IE for Windows XP SP2 has a pop-up blocker.  Make sure to turn it on.  Go the Tools->Internet Options->Privacy
and make sure the block popup is checked.  Also check settings if there are site that are allowed that you don't want.

Running a spybot and a virus scanner would help too.
