stolen modem
« on: April 10, 2004, 08:52:00 AM »
Hello there

I think an application somehow has been downloaded to my computer that now has taken over the modem. When the modem diales there is a new username and a different password and there are also two different connectionsetups to use. They both have the same name but one ends with "_old". If I create a new connectionsetup that one gets duplicated with "_old" at the end.

So. If there is an unwanted application that has stolen my modem, how do I find it so that it can be erased?

Thank god you are around.

Mark

Sounds like a dialer, you should just be able to remove it by deleting it in the connections panel and then set you old one as default. Also you might want to run programs such as adaware and spybot to find any spyware or other nasty programs.
