r there anyway to boot from USB cdrom

  r there anyway to boot from usb cdrom like if i used the XP boot disk i can install the window XP on my laptop(portege 3500) ....but i can't use the recovery cd ...since the boot disk created by recovery cd don't include driver for USB cdrom like the one created by XP boot disk.... :-/
 
  when i browse the recovery cd i found the *. gho extension file ....try to open it ...asked for a password ....  ::) ....r they anyway to open this file ...

  By viewing the link above I can only say that the answer to your question would have to be either 1. your bios settings allow for it or 2. drivers downloaded from this site work on your system http://www.bootdisk.com/.  If it is possible for you to even get as far as to view the files on the CD rom you may want to copy the cab files to the hard drive if installation doesnt work properly for you
