Could it be 3000 J Series?

    Go back to this link.

There are several J series models...seven , as a matter of fact...look for one of those model numbers on your computer...selectthe type and the operating system you need drivers for.

You should be able to download and install the correct driver for your Ethernet card.

Go back to the link I gave you...

Look on that page for a link on the right that reads:

        Detect my system

Click it and you'll be directed to download and install an ActiveX control so Lenovo can scan your computer and provide you with the necessary info about your system.

Copy and paste the info within a post.

I don't see it. All it is IBM tech support.

            Hi,

If someone had a pre-installed Vista system and don't like it would you down grade to XP Pro? I tried down grading but my Ethernet won't recognize. I even tried installing drivers for it but it still won't work or would all of you keep the Vista? My Ethernet name is:

            Broadcom NetLink (TM) Gigabit Ethernet

How can i get it to work in XP Pro?

The above is your original post...

You took your computer from Vista to XP, yet you can't navigate to a simple link on a web page...even when it's handed to you on a silver platter?

            Go to this page.

On that page you will see a link for IBM and Lenovo Support

            Select Continue under Lenovo Support.

Click the Auto detect this system button.

You will see an Information Bar window directing you to the Information bar which has a question mark directing you to install the following add-on:  Automated Solution Inline Executive...

You need to click that Information bar and then click Install ActiveX Control.

You will see a Security Window asking you if you want to Install this control or not...click the Install Button.

This control should run and retrieve any system information as it pertains to your computer...including the Model #.

Once you get the model number...please post back.

If you are not using Microsoft Internet Explorer
You may be receiving this error because your browser does not support ActiveX controls.

If you are using Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2
You may be receiving this error because you need to install an ActiveX control.

To install the ActiveX control and take advantage of this IBM Support technology:
                1. Click the security warning that appears at the top of this window. The warning will appear in a yellow box and should read: "The previous site might require the following ActiveX control: 'IBM Access Support' from 'International Business Machines, Inc.'. Click here to install." After you click this warning, a menu will appear.
                2. Click "Allow this page to install ActiveX controls".
                3. Follow the instructions that appear to finish installing the ActiveX control.
