Okay, so i'm currently using a 4 year old E-machines. Which the only upgrades in are 1GB of DDR ram.
I'm no computer genius, but even i've noticed this is outdated, and can't keep up with the modern day things i wish to do.
So i'm looking at upgrading, but as with e-machines, it's not hugely built for expansion. So i'm thinking (Although i could be wrong) i counter that by getting:
New Motherboard and obviously power unit for that board, will also need new Ram as only have 1256 of DDR. And most new motherboards seem to be DDR2, so will want to get DDR2. Preferably 2GB's.
I'll also need a new processor for this motherboard. Was looking at a dual core board and processer, although i'm not sure how to add a processor to a board, is it something anybody can do with slight knowledge of the inside of a PC?
Also will look at getting a PCI-E Graphics card, as atm i haven't got a PCI-E slot, only AGP and 1 PCI.
I'm looking at:
Duel Core processor and board, Not sure about AMD or Intel. Any advice on this age old dispute? A 600W PSU. 2GB DDR2 ram. And a Geforce 7x series. But also want a board that will last a while.
One slight problem, i have a budget of £150 - £175.
Ideally i'll want this system to handle Vista & A game such as Rainbow 6 Vegas etc.
Is this going to be possible?
I don't have SATA drives, so wont need SATA components.
