Burning a MIDI song to a CD
    « on: October 07, 2007, 09:40:57 AM »
I have made some songs on MIDI software, and i now want to put them on a CD. I cannot make them WAVE because the quality is too poor. I have burnt CDs before but when I try to burn my MIDI songs to an empty CD, i get this message:

I went to the icon and it doesn't have any media usage rights...is this the problem or is it the file type? If so, how can i get the media usage rights?

I would really aprecciate it if somebody could tell me how i can burn these songs, or how i can turn them into MP3 songs, I tried changing the file extension to .mp3 and nothing really happened.

    Thanks

ahh, it turns out none that none of those converters will let you record and save a whole song for free, and all of them lose quality...isnt there any other way of getting my midi songs onto my CD?

As I found out here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/knowledgecenter/mediaadvice/0062.mspx

You can't burn Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) files in Windows Media Player. Instead, you must use the CD Writing Wizard in Windows. Note that MIDI files can only be burned to a data CD, which places copies of the files on the CD. Most CD players will not be able to play a data CD that contains MIDI files. You may need to search the Internet to find software that will convert MIDI files to a file format that most CD players can play.

Unfortunately, I didn't find any free program burning MIDI files to CD (you don't have Nero, by any chance, do you? it suppose to have a converter).
I know you tried MIDI to ".wav" conversion, and you were not happy with quality, but you may take a look at this tutorial here: http://www.notationmachine.com/midi_to_wave.htm

thanks for that broni, it looks really helpful, i just cant do some of it though:

"Check the 'Mute' check boxes for all sliders except 'Synthesizer Balance.'"

well on my volume control i only have:

playback, wave, CD Audio, MIDI, Line In.

so how i get it up?

p.s. on my properties area on volume control, the only two unchecked were auxilary and s/pdif-in
