New hard drive no drivers- need help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, so my computer said something about something was wrong with my hard drive or something and I got a new 160 GB hard drive. I downloaded DirectX, Macromedia shockwave & flash player, DirectX SDK. I need to know where I can get up to date sound, graphic, and video drivers. I first noticed the thing about the graphics when I tried playing a game called FlyFF, it said "DirectSound init Failed". Then when I log on,
it only moves every 894 sec., I timed it. Any ideas?


P.S. are video and graphics drivers the same thing?

ok so Im new here. but Im 12 years old, and Im the smartest 1 with computers in my entire family, and even my computer literacy teacher can't help! I really need help here. I just read a post that said Im supposed to put the processor... so I opened device manager and it says Ive got an Intel® Celeron® CPU 2.3 GHz on a Windows XP Home Edition computer. Please help!

Yes, video, and graphic drivers are the same thing.
Besides your processor, we need to know your computer brand, and model number. You should find it on a front panel of your computer.
Then, we have to know, if beside a new hard drive, any other hardware changes were made to your computer since the time, it was bought (especially I have in mind video card, or sound card).
If no changes were done, we can track your drivers just by your computer brand, and model.

Not because of that, but it's a huge program, it uses a lot of your computer resources, and sometimes conflicts with other programs.
Do you have it installed, or you are thinking about getting it?

As for your drivers....when you downloaded those drivers, what are the names of those two files? Especially, I need to know what are the three letter after dot, like:
mydriver.abc

I have it installed, it sucks. 2007 ver, too;
theyre both execution files (.exe)

norton sucks, not the drivers!! I havent even tried them >_>. but yeah it said down load open then run that do it??

I didn't say run them, but I understand, you are impatient young guy, so that's OK.
Did you have those two files in some directory, or on your desktop.
Did they install anything? I think, not. Driver files usually don't work that way.
I suspect, they were just self-extracting files, so when you ran them, they just uncompressed files, that were hidden inside.
Now you have to ask Windows to find them.
Go to Device Manager (I'm pretty sure, you know how), click "+" sign next to Display Adapters. You'll see another entry, which is a device, which needs your driver.
Right click on it, and click on "Update Driver". Let Windows Wizard find it.
Let me know, if Windows has any problem with finding it.

You do same thing with your Audio Device driver. This can be find, when you click on a "+" sign next to "Sound, Video, and Game Controllers". Repeat same action, as with video driver.
