links that won't work

whenever i click on most links (such as my hotmail messages) it will not open. i click but nothing happens or opens. i recently was deleting random things from my computer to free it of some space.....could i have deleted a wrong file?

Do you have a popup blocker installed or Nortan AntiVirus 2004?
